Last November 26, 2011, we had a Relief Society Activity.
Sis. Yoyit Lintag taught us how to bake and decorate a cake.
RECIPE:
Pineapple Cheese Chiffon Cake
Ingredients:
Dry ingredients:
2 1/4 cup cake flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp baking powder
1 c. sugar
1 tsp salt

Wet ingredient:
1/2 c oil
8 egg yolks
3/4 c. pineapple juice/puree
1 tsp pineapple flavor

Procedure:
1. Sift together all dry ingredients.
2. Add in the wet ingredients.
3. Beat until smooth. Set aside.
4. Beat 8 egg whites with 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar until bubbles are fine.
Add 1/2 c. sugar and continue to beat until stiff
5. Pour beaten egg whites over the egg yolk mixture and fold in.

Fold in 2/3 c. grated cheese.
6. Pour cake mixture into a baking pan.
7. Bake at 350°F for 30-40 min or until done.

Icing
Ingredients:
1/2 c egg whites
1 tsp. cream of tartar
2 c. sugar
1/2 c water
1 tsp. cream of tartar
2 c. sugar
1/2 c water
Procedure:
1. Boil sugar and water until it spins a thread. (Do not stir)
2. Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until stiff.
Pour in hot syrup while continuing to beat the egg whites.
3. Beat until icing is of spreading and piping consistency.
