176th Relief Society Anniversary

This year's theme of our 176th Relief Society Anniversary celebration is Hawaiian. It went well.
All the sisters were beautiful and we in the Stake Presidency were so much grateful for the efforts made in doing their costumes and for the presentations they've prepared.

Here's what happened...

The whole participants.

Arlington Ward presentation

Capitol Ward presentation

San Nicolas Ward presentation

I joined these sisters in my ward for our presentation.

I'm grateful for the sisters who helped teach the dance and helped make the DIY Moana Crown. We have been helping hands working on our costumes,

Here's how we did it;

MOANA CROWN, BRACELET & ANKLET

You'll need (Quantity for 1 set):

4 pcs. - Construction Paper (Dark Green)
1 pc. - Construction Paper (Yellow-Green)
Stapler and staple wire (you need a lot of staple wire)
adhesive tape (if you prefer, I'm comfortable with this.)
15 pcs. - Pink Fake Flowers, small
1 pc. - Folder, long

Procedure:

1.) Before anything else, don't be too excited. To make everything faster, we have to cut a lot of leaves FIRST. Here are two patterns that you can choose from. A longer leaves and shorter leaves. It will depend on you. I made a longer leaves but the rest of the group wins to make shorter leaves. go! :-)

2.) Cut the folder in 2 inches wide like this. Don't make it too wide, we don't want to cut more and more leaves for this. Measure the length of your head in the middle of your forehead. This would be the length of the folder. You should have a 2 cut folder for this to meet the desired length.

3.) Once the leaves were all cut, and we have to fold this way...

4.) Assemble leaves on the crown like this... We have to establish a pattern for assembling.

Crown: One crown 7 flowers. One flower needs 8 leaves. Space of 4 pairs of leaves.
Bracelet: One bracelet 3 flowers. One flower needs 8 leaves. Space 1 pair of leaves.
Anklet: One anklet 3 flowers. One flower needs 8 leaves. Space 2 pairs of leaves.

5.) It is time to place the flowers. Just staple it 3 times.

6.) When wearing these props, staple the ends according to your size. I suggest a little tight so that when you dance it is not moving.

I'm grateful for the experience we had. Truly, that this activity was all about sisterhood. During the week I felt the sisterhood feeling while we were doing this Hawaiian crown.

May this blog be a source of inspiration to everyone!

THANK YOU!
