I miss church. I miss my sisters in our ward. And I miss carrying out and attending Relief Society activities at church. I think we all miss our sisterhood. I truly sympathize how sisters felt when they asked me, “When are we going back to church?” or “When would this end?”. I don’t know the answers to these questions. What I perceive is that this pandemic won’t stop us from performing activities. And it is possible as we did in our ward. Surely, we will not stop to give relief and show charity to our sisters.
During
early pandemic, around May, our Mission President gave instructions to our
stake to prepare a devotional through social media. They provided lists of
topics and social media that are useful for virtual group meetings. This is
such a great inspiration that was announced to us for we were all seeking for a light.
Our Bishop and other leaders were able to planned and coordinate with members. With the help of members with good technical skill, we were able to launch our first YouTube video for Mother’s day Sunday Special which you can watch on this link (San Nicolas Ward: Mother’s Day Sunday Special).
We were able to contact our members to prepare a video clip with a message for mothers. And we compiled everything into one video including the selected speaker and our Bishop. And so, our ward continued to make the devotional through YouTube as we're instructed to us. There were speakers assigned on each Sunday. Speakers prepared their talk in their convenience and video themselves wearing their Sunday’s best attire.
Also, we
informed all our members in our ward through text messages and Facebook messenger for
the broadcast of the video on a specific time on Sunday. We received a very good
response to this event. Everybody was excited to see each other through this
video. And I felt the presence of one another even though we were apart. It was truly
a heartfelt experience to see them.
As we continue this kind of activities there were inspirations I received for relief society organization.
Here are some of the videos that we made;
1.) RS Self Reliance Video – Presentation of showing Self Reliance through gardening, family prayer, and scripture study.
2.) RS Simple Recipes – Presentation of simple recipes that the sisters were discovered during this pandemic.

and crafts that could be made during the pandemic.
4.) RS Lyric Video – Presentation of lyric video using church hymn.
5.) RS Online Class – An Especially Noble Calling
6.) RS Online Class – Spiritually Defining
Moments
7.) RS Online Class – Let this House be Built Unto My Name
Our ward
has several videos on devotional and online Sunday School Class. We also had a virtual
family game night. You may visit our ward’s YouTube channel at SanNicolasWardOfficial for more ideas!
What I’m grateful for during this pandemic is that we were able to continue to do activities at our own space and meet online with other sisters. We look forward to each week’s activity and help us keep ourselves busy and productive. How amazing the technology could help us get through with our challenges. We were able to put a smile on each other’s faces and be more spiritual. Also, we discovered new skills that we could develop. I hope that you may able to get some inspirations from here. Thank you!
