This year's Relief Society anniversary is simple. However, we learned so many things about the duties and responsibilities of selected sisters in our ward.
We are grateful that the condition of our place is better than it was last year. We were able to gather together in lesser attendance.
I'll share with you today our Relief Society program.
THEME
We chose the "Happy Birthday" theme. It is the celebration of the birth of the Relief Society organization.
We also thought to celebrate each sister's birthday for the entire year.
ACTIVITY
The first part of our program was the recitation of the Relief Society declaration. It was a refresher for everyone.
Then, each sister stood in front of us and shared with us her duties and responsibilities as a woman.
We informed them in advance that we will show our responsibility by wearing the clothes that reflect them. Each one took turns sharing their inspiring responsibilities.
After that, we made around of applause for the unimaginable things that we do us a woman.
We also took the opportunity to welcome a new member of the Relief Society organization from the young women organization. We gave her a simple gift for remembrance.
GAMES
We introduced the game, MONEY or WALLET. This is a famous Pilipino game that brought us so much laughter.
We chose the top seven sisters who took a long time saying, Relief Society Anniversarrryyyyyyyy.....
Each sister took their turn and was asked, is it money or a wallet?
Inside the wallets were surprising gifts. She will then be offered money that might be equal to or more than the surprise gift inside the wallet. It is for her to decide.
RESULTS
I was excited to hear each sister's responsibilities. It impressed me to know the perseverance and patience that each sister does for their family, church, and society.
It is such a great blessing from God that women were not designed to just stay at home and do house choirs only.
Some were surprised by other sister's responsibility in their work. It was inspiring how they ended up with their profession, their choice of work, and the choice to be a housewife.
Most of all, we realized that the work of sisters is never-ending. The reason for work changed from money to service. And in spite of the many responsibilities, these sisters know their responsibility to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
